History:

Samson von Sydow was a college friend of Nash and the cameraman for The Magic Circle, credited as Sunny Sydup, alongside Dolma, Awar, and Mallory. He saw himself as a coward, and the film turned out largely terrible because he was too afraid to get close to anything brave or dangerous. While returning the old history book to the library and asking for another for a sequel, he confided this to Caelum, who offered to remove his fear through a transmutation experiment.

Samson was originally a red-haired Rhode Island Red chicken man. The experiment worked, but it took the animal part of him along with the fear: not even minutes later, that burden was born as a rooster, Sunny, leaving Samson fully human. Sunny wore the nametag and toy gun Samson gave him and lived in a luxurious coop in Caelum’s demesne until an argument with an angelic visitor knocked his cage open. Nash, who had followed his friend into the back room, saw Caelum split Samson in two, believed Caelum had killed him, and ran. That belief that the Masters remove anyone who looks too deeply into the island drove Nash to create the Crooked King.

Samson became a red-haired human chicken farmer in the Violet Demesne, sheepishly wearing a brand new violet nametag. When the Kings of Kings helped Arledge with his errands, Sunny flew straight into Samson’s arms and refused to leave, and Samson offered to keep him. A year after the fall of Nash-Zeroth, Samson reunited with his old friends from the theater and filmed a far better remake of the Diadem story, with Nash and Samson’s friendship restarting almost from scratch.
