History:

Garamond works the teller windows at Diadem Bank, a large two story brick building. He was summoned to King Akarui’s office the day the Kings of Kings arrived to exchange their foreign cash for Z, and was ecstatic to see an envelope holding ten different currencies.

At the bank he opens individual or shared checking accounts for a minimum starting balance of 50z, letting customers stop carrying coin and stop risking it in a lost fight. Overdrawn accounts get a letter and seven days to fix the error, “after that… it depends.” He refuses to say what Z coins are made of. They are in fact filled with mana-infused sea salt, a secret very few people on the island know.
