Master of the Violet Demesne, the Countryside, and “everyone’s favorite farmhand.” Known as Arledge the Compassionate King, believing in generosity.

History:

Arledge Tannifila is the personified concept of life and BEGINNING. His demesne is endless farmland of specialty ranches and crop fields along a dirt road leading to a farmer’s market, supplying the food that makes all of Diadem’s cooking taste so good. He desires a bountiful harvest and long life for all, and does at least half the work in the demesne himself: milking, egg collecting, shearing, and making sure the babies at the petting zoo get fed. He looks like an oddball but is tough as nails, sharp as a tack, and swift as lightning.

Ten years ago the Chamberlins chose him as their first challenge because he seemed the least experienced fighter. He warned them not to. A pacifist by nature, he spent an hour trying to exhaust the four of them into surrendering, but Akarui describes him as a monster when he actually hit them, and only Akarui was left standing. Arledge told him he was glad to be their first, because the rest would be far worse. Akarui has kept his Regalia, the Chrysanthemum Cross, safe ever since, and Arledge considers him a dear friend.

He enlisted the Kings of Kings to help with his errands, paid them the coin he earned, and fed fusion food pellets ordered from Caelum’s pet store to the petting zoo animals and himself. When his young dragon friend Azar went on a rampage, Arledge asked them to tire him out while he healed everyone, and discovered the gold dust in Azar’s wound. He crashed the Kings of Kings’ public challenge against Akarui to watch, healed both sides afterward, and dragged everyone to a barbecue in his demesne.
