Profession:
Boat captain in the Ocean Demesne, sailing The Barrel of Forty-Two.
History:
Gwalather, called Gallon because he can drink anyone under the table, is an old fisherman of the Ocean Demesne who captains The Barrel of Forty-Two, named because a barrel holds 42 gallons. He is unusually proud of both jokes.
He witnessed the challenge in which the Marauders took Vivid, and after Dorrin threw the Kings of Kings out of his home, Gallon took them fishing a mile offshore to explain. He told them the story of Vivid of the Crimson Eye, of the three masked challengers, the gold pistol that dropped Dorrin in a cloud of gold dust, and the leader whose eye he glimpsed through his crushed helmet, a man who “saw death in those Jaws.” He defended Dorrin’s choice not to storm Diadem looking for her.
When the Kings of Kings returned to challenge Dorrin, Gallon led the musicians at the seafood feast on violin, and after their victory presented Dorrin with a fresh bottle of wine, walking off with him spouting fisherman-isms the whole way.
